I was driving down the highway this morning on the way to my exam - which anyone who drives now a days knows this is quite a dangerous undertaking - when I was almost run over by a truck. It was quite tramatizing to say the least. I was calmly minding my own business, driving with great responsibility and awareness when all of the sudden, out of the blue sky, the truck, which was slightly ahead of me, decided to switch lanes without checking his mirrors. Yes, I know - shocking isn't it. All I ask is for a mere peak in your vehicle mirrors before switching lanes on a busy highway. But no, he didn't and I had to slam on my breaks. Yes, slam on my breaks, on the highway. How entirely outrageous.

After this entire ordeal, in which I tried to calm myself so that I didn't hyperventalate - I drove by him calmly and smiled. It was the most I dared do - considering he was quite a lot bigger then me (well his vehicle was) and I really didn't want to be spending my Christmas in the ditch alongside the highway.

I do believe this world is becoming an unsafe place and I am planning on buying a plane since I hear the air highways are a lot less conjested and much more polite.

the reason why I normally don't drive with my sister. Due to the many people in my family all doing different things at the same time, I had to be dropped off at school. When my time had come, Bep came and picked me up. With her was Esther and Grace. All was well until we started hitting some hills. While we were going up the hills my sisters will make a rollercoaster going up a track noise - during which Bep would drive excruciatingly slow as to imitate a rollercoaster. When we hit the top of the hill the girls would throw up their hands (I covered my eyes when Bep started doing it too) and we would coast down the hill.

It was an interesting ride to say the least. Bep claims that if we would have been going the speed limit we would of hit the rabit that jumped across our path. I counterclaimed that if we were going the speed limit we would have passed the spot 20 minutes before the rabit even thought of crossing the road.

My dad while we were shopping for Christmas presents last night - "Do you have some kind of wrapping program or something here." And yes, the cashier laughed.

My sister at the supper table - "The only reason you keep having kids is because you need the baby bonus to survive."

My dad imitating my mom at the supper table - "Give me children or I die." Followed by a loud crash as my mom threw the first thing that her hand found (my little sister:) Okay, kidding about the little sister part.

My little sister Esther when bragging to her 4 year old friend "Well my dad when he runs across the road can touch his mouth to his belly."

My brother when he read the list of things to do in Wal-Mart - "You should take all the rubber ducks from the bath section and float them in the fish tanks."

Our neighbor boy - "Shhh, be quiet, I hear a pig in your house (in all seriousness)." Which we discovered was my dad sniffling in his office.

My parents are leaving tomorrow at 1:00 for the Dominican Republic - two words come to my mind - Party Time:) Though on the outside I would only convey an attitude of extreme maturity and responsibility:) It was wierd, they decided they wanted to go away and randomly booked a trip and told me they were leaving on Friday (they told me that it was confirmed on like Wednesday). The wierd part was they weren't even concerned about setting off their pace makers or something with such a dramatic and last minute decision. Odd. So my first week off of school will be spent doing some re-decorating of our house (which is a surprise for my mom from my dad).

On a happy note - I have two exams left and they should be easier then most of my exams that I have done. I feel the stress leaving my body in a hasty retreat as I finish them off - which is a nice thing unless you love stress and it makes you happy.

I went to the Messiah last weekend, it was quite impressive I must say. I admire anyone who can sing as high as some of those ladies sang. I was sure someone was going to faint the way they held their notes and breath for like ever.

Cool thing, in April when I finish school Bep and I are going to go travelling for a week. My parents are donating their air miles and we will wait till the last minute and randomly pick a flight so some country. It should be fun - at least I am excited!!!!

While your wife is taking her sweet time:

1. Get 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in people's carts when they aren't looking.

2.Set all the alarm clocks in House wares to go off at 5-minute intervals.

3. Make a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the rest rooms.

4. Walk up to an employee and tell him/her in an official tone, 'Code 3' in house wares......and see what happens.

5. Go the Service Desk and ask to put a bag of M&M's on lay away.

6. Move a 'CAUTION - WET FLOOR' sign to a carpeted area.

7. Set up a tent in the camping department and tell other shoppers you'll invite them in if they bring pillows from the bedding department.

8. When a clerk asks if they can help you, begin to cry and ask 'Why can't you people just leave me alone?'

9. Look right into the security camera, use it as a mirror and pick your nose.

10.. While handling guns in the hunting department, ask the clerk if he knows where the anti-depressants are.

11.. Dart around the store suspiciously while loudly humming the theme from "Mission Impossible."

12.. In the auto department, practice your "Madonna look" using different size funnels.

13..Hide in a clothing rack and when people browse through, say "PICK ME!" "PICK ME!"

14.. When an announcement comes over the loud speaker, assume the fetal position and scream "NO!  NO! It's those voices again!!!!"

15.. Go into a fitting room, shut the door and wait a while and then yell loudly "There is no toilet paper in here!"

And 16. Play the Wal-Mart game!!

I feel restless as of late. It is like chapters of my life's story are closing or in the process of beginning to close, and suddenly I feel like I need a change. Like I need to move on into some new unknown territory. It's odd.

One of the chapters of my life closed on Sunday. I always thought it would be odd when it happened, and yet when I was suddenly faced with it I was quite at peace with it being over. Wierd how life changes you, even in ways that you never expected.

I am excited about new possibilities, new dreams, unknown places, yet there is always a sadness, like for instance when you finish a good book. Somehow it is like you are losing a friend that was never anything less then wonderful. So, it is with a tinge of sadness that I say goodbye to some old things and forge ahead. But somewhere, beneath the surface bubbles the excitement of starting something new - being able to dream of a million and five possibilities.

It is during these moments of peace - with a blank paper and a keyboard before me - that I look ahead with great anticipation. Knowing that it won't always be easy, but ready for whatever life brings my way.
